Baras historical timeline highlights milestone events in the company's nearly 20 years history
Akin Baras, a civil engineer willing to take risks and explore opportunities had the vision to found Baras for building concrete structures. From the start, he infused his company with strong core values and established one purpose to be a customer-focused organization, with a partnership approach and committed to deliver projects safely and profitably.
Over the years, the company has expanded to offer a wide range of industrial and commercial construction services for markets including automotive, manufacturing and residential .
Baras first pure contractor job was a 16 420 m2 footwear factory in Serpuxov, where Baras was selected from among four other competitors for carrying out the construction works.
GROWTH & EXPANSION
Baras is awarded a contract by Mareven Food Central for building a 76 250 m2 instant noodle processing plant in Serpuxov. It represented the type of work Akin Baras has pictured for the company and launched Baras into the next level of building technical facilities.
During these years, the company benefit from the industrial construction booming demand and Akin Baras grew the company to 290 employees and $35 million in revenue through mostly industrial, process, and design-build work in the Moscow region.

EXPANDING OUR REACH
On year 2012 Gestamp Severstal chose Baras to construct a deep press pit foundation for their new 2000 ton stamping press line, inside an existing building. All work was completed to meet a tight delivery schedule for the press installation.
Our flexibility and willingness to adapt the design to the client’s needs helped establish Baras reputation as a skilled builder developing creative solutions, and represented the beginning of an important collaboration with the automobile industry.
EXPANDING OUR SERVICES
During the coming years, we continued to increase our cooperation with the automotive industry by building factories for Nobel Automotive, Cie. Automotive and AAT Automotive Technologies.
Baras expanded its design-building capabilities, obtaining a building designer license; which provide us a greater opportunity for bidding for larger engineering and construction projects.
Beyond that, we started our property development business, by developing ourselves a residential project in Kaluga.
INTERNATIONALIZATION STRATEGY TO INCREASE SCALE
Baras launched an expansion strategy and added projects in Rumania and Morocco for the first time, as well as significantly expanded its presence in Russia by signing a contract with OSGM.
Baras Group, as part of a joint -venture was chosen as a builder for building the residential district for Amur Gas Processing plant in Svobodny city . This represents the company’s first project for the biggest contractor in Russia. Working conditions in Amur region are difficult and help solidify Baras culture of caring for its employees.
Today, Baras Group has matured into a full-service firm with more than 350 employees, offering multifaceted design and construction services to businesses around the world.
To better serve its growing client base within the automotive industry, Baras signed a partnership agreement with Nobel Automotive expanding its operations with the establishment of regional offices in Rumania and Morocco.
Breaking into the Green energy business. We started working with a major wind energy market operator. As well as, installing solar panels on industrial facilities.
